    You started the day with 3 gallons of water. If there are 4 cups in a quart and 4 quarts in a gallon, how many cups of water did you start with?

    • 1 gallon = 4 quarts
    • So 3 gallons = 4 * 3 = 12 quarts
    • 12 quarts * 4 cups per quart = 48 cups of water
