    Multiply the difference of 3 and q by p.

    Take this algebraic expression in pieces:

    Step 1: The difference of 3 and q
    The word difference means we subtract the variable q from 3
    3 - q

    Step 2: Multiply the expression 3 - q by p:
    p(3 - q)
