    A piece of gym equipment which cost 450 including vat last year is now selling at 500 excluding vat. Calculate the percentage increase.

    Increase = (New Price - Old Price)/Old Price

    Increase = (500-450)/450

    50/450 = 0.1111

    To get the percentage, multiply by 100
    11.11%
