    A rectangular house is 68 yards wide and 112 yards long. What is its perimeter?

    The perimeter of a rectangle is:
    P = 2l + 2w

    Plugging in our length of 112 and our width of 68, we get:
    P = 2(112) + 2(68)
    P = 224 + 136
    P = 360
