    A rectangular parking lot has a perimeter of 152 yards. If the length of the parking lot is 12 yards greater than the width. What is the width of the parking lot?

    The perimeter of a rectangle is: 2l + 2w = P.

    We're given 2 equations:
    1. 2l + 2w = 152
    2. l = w + 12
    Substitute equation (2) into equation (1) for l:
    2(w + 12) + 2w = 152
    2w + 24 + 2w = 152

    Combine like terms:
    4w + 24 = 152

    To solve for w, we type this equation into our search engine and we get:
    w = 32
