Jessica has at most to spend $40 and a pair of pants and shirts. She finds a pair of pants for $12. Shirts cost $4 each. How many shirts can she buy?

    Calculate the amount for shirts:
Amount for shirts = Total Spend - Cost of pants
    Amount for shirts = 40 - 12
    Amount for shirts = 28

Calculate the amount of t-shirts Jessica can buy:
T-shirts to buy = Amount for shirts / cost per shirt
    T-shirts to buy = 28/4
    T-shirts to buy = 7
