    The sum of 4 and x is multiplied by 5. The result is then taken away from 16.

    Take this algebraic expression in 3 parts:

    Part 1: The sum of 4 and x:
    4 + x

    Part 2: Multiplied by 5:
    5(4 + x)

    Part 3: The result is then taken away from 16:
    16 - 5(4 + x)
