    A stack of lumber is 8 feet wide, 5 feet high, and 2 feet long. Give the volume of the stack

    The lumber stack is a rectangular solid. The Volume V is found from the length (l), width (w), and height (h) by:
    V = lwh

    Plugging in our given values, we get:
    V = 2 * 8 * 5
    V = 80 cubic feet
