    9 rulers cost the same as 11 erasers. One eraser cost 0.09 cents. What is the cost of 1 ruler

    Let the cost of a ruler be r. We're given:
    9r = 11(0.09)
    9r = 0.99

    Divide each side by 9 and we get:
    r = 0.11
