A piece of pipe is 144 inches long. After 4 pieces, each 33 inches long are cut, what length of pipe is left?

Calculate the length of cut pipe:
    4 pieces * 33 inches per piece = 132 inches

The remaining pipe is found by subtracting the original pipe length by the cut pipe length:
    144 - 132 = 12 inches
