    3^14/27^4 = ?

    Understand that 27 = 3^3. Rewriting this, we have:
    3^14/(3^3)^4

    Exponent identity states (a^b)^c = a^bc, so we have:
    3^14/3^12

    Simplifying, we have:
    3^(14 - 12) = 3^2 = 9
