    by + 2/3 = c for y

    Subtract 2/3 from each side of the literal equation:
    by + 2/3 - 2/3 = c - 2/3

    Cancel the 2/3 on the left side to get:
    by = c - 2/3

    Divide each side by b to isolate y:
    by/b = (c - 2/3)/b

    Cancel the b's on the left side to get:
    y = (c - 2/3)/b
