    Find y if the line through (1, y) and (2, 7) has a slope of 4.

    Given two points (x1, y1) and (x2, y2), Slope formula is:
    slope = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)

    Plugging in our coordinates and slope to this formula, we get:
    (7 - y)/(2 - 1) = 4
    7 - y/1 = 4
    7 - y = 4

    To solve this equation for y, we type it in our search engine and we get:
    y = 3
